The Hardik Pandya-led side bounced back in style in the crucial third match of the ongoing T20I series. The Men in Blue defended the target of 159 runs put up by the Rovman Powell-led side in just 17.5 overs, winning the match by seven wickets. During this win chase, it was Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav’s knock of 83 which helped the side reach the mark, which was well supported by Tilak Varma.

However, during Suryakumar Yadav’s stay at the crease, very few people noticed the patch on his wristband. However, in the latest post-match chat between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, which was shared just hour ago by the BCCI revealed the story behind this patch.

 

Tilak Varma, who has been in scintillating touch lately revealed the story behind the patch on SKY’s wristband. Varma said that he wanted to address this to the general masses that Suryakumar Yadav had a wish on his wristband which had that he would take time and play slow in the powerplay. “Surya bhai ke wristband mein tha ki thoda time leke khelna hai”, Varma said in the interaction.

Varma later added that however he went against it and started playing freely from the very first ball of his inning. Elaborating  on the same, SKY added that he bluffed himself as started after striking the bat at the start of it.

In the post-match interaction, Suryakumar Yadav also asked the youngster of his knock. Varma said that he just played a calculative knock and played freely, enjoying the match.

 

The MI batter, who made his debut in the first T20I against West Indies, has scored 39, 51 and 49* in the three innings he has featured so far.
