With the transfer window coming to a close and even the last day for registering for the IPL 2024 auction being November 30, all things in the cricketing arena move to the much-awaited IPL 2024 auction. The mini-auction for the 2024 edition of the cash-rich league is all set to take place on December 19, Tuesday in Dubai and all ten franchises will aim to bring in the best talent as per their requirements.

However, around 1166 players have reportedly registered for the IPL 2024 auction, including the likes of Rachin Ravindra, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, etc, Jofra Archer hasn’t put his name for the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league.

“Some of the biggest names have registered for the auction of the Indian Premier League (IPL), but Jofra Archer, who was recently released by the Mumbai Indians, has not enrolled. A total of 1166 players find themselves in the Register, shared with the IPL franchises on Friday,” Cricbuzz quoted.

The report published by Cricbuzz also states that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has not opened up on the reason why Archer did not register for the auction. “The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has not responded why Archer (27) has not given his name for the auction, but it was being talked among IPL teams that he would not turn up this year because of his injury,” the report further quoted.

It is to be noted that the England pacer was released by the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians. However, the reason behind this wasn’t revealed but it looks like that injury concerns off late could be one of the key factors. Archer, who was with MI in IPL 2023, featured in only five matches, picking two wickets only.
