Al-Ittihad star Karim Benzema broke his silence on the reports claiming that he wants to leave the club. There were reports that Benzema was unhappy with his Saudi Pro League side and considered a move to other sides and leagues. There were rumours that the 36-year-old held meetings with the club as well as Argentinian coach Marcelo Gallardo last week. Not only this, but the reports also claimed that Benzema feels he hasn’t been able to give his best to the current side.

Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda spoke to the TV program El Chiringuito and said that he offered himself to his former club, Real Madrid. Inda said, “Karim Benzema was still offering himself to Real Madrid. He is not happy and it is difficult for him to receive the salary he accepted in Saudi. He misses Madrid. There are no nines at the moment, even though Bellingham is scoring a lot of goals. He is unhappy there. He earns a lot more than in Madrid, but he has difficulty getting paid."
The Frenchman joined moved to Ittihad last summer, thus, putting an end to his 14-year-long stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Benzema opened up on the rumours circulating and said that he is rather happy being at the Saud Pro League side. He also bashed the French media, claiming that the reports doing rounds on the internet are completely false. Benzema told L'Equipe: "It's completely false! The French media don't know what to invent any more. The bigger the better."
Per the AFP, the striker had expressed his desire to leave the club after being left out by manager Marcelo Gallardo. Benzema was excluded after he turned up 17 days late to training, citing Mauritius' stormy weather for his late arrival. The Goal now reports that Benzema is currently following a separate training session in Riyadh to get back to match the fitness levels.
