San Antonio Spurs’ star Victor Wembanyama, who has been dealing with a hip injury off late, is reportedly doubtful of making it to the team’s next game. The towering Frenchman was also doubtful of appearing in his side’s clash against the Hawks. However, later he appeared in his side’s clash on November 30. Wembanyama reportedly has right hip tightness since Wednesday and is listed as questionable against the Pelicans on December 2 (IST). 

The 19-year-old was able to make it to his team’s side through the hip injury in the 135-137 clash against the Hawks on Thursday. He finished with 21 points (9-16 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals and four blocks across 29 minutes. Spurs’ Friday game will be the second leg of their back-to-back set.

Ahead of the match, the Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich told reporters that Wembanyama remains doubtful of the Friday-night clash. In the conference, Popovich told the media, "We're trying to protect [Victor Wembanyama]. He may not play tomorrow [vs. the Pelicans]. We'll see how he came out of this one." 

Notably, Wembanyama has played every game of his rookie season. He currently averages 19.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.6 blocks, and 1.3 steals while playing 30.1 minutes per game.
