The Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue levelled the five-match Test series 1-1 on Monday, February 5th after registering a 106-run win in the second Test in Visakhapatnam. Putting 399 runs on the board for England to chase, the Indian bowling attack bundled out visitors at the score of 292 on the back of Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant spell with the ball.

Team India Head Coach Rahul Dravid spoke laurels of the Indian side and also critisized several move while also hailing ‘Bazball’ approach of England. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Dravid also opened up on Virat Kohli’s availability for the remaining Tests against England when asked. While he directed it towards the selectors for the perfect answer, he said, “I think it’s best to ask the selectors. I am sure they are the best people to answer ahead of the team selection for the next three Tests. We will get to that. I am sure there will be selection over the next few days. We will connect with him and find out.”

Ahead of the start of the five-match Test series, Virat Kohli had pulled out of the first two Tests, citing “personal reasons”. However, the decision was communicated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as they requested to “respect Virat Kohli’s privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons.”

However, amid this, his former RCB teammate and South African great AB de Villiers revealed that Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child. Speaking on his YouTube channel, ABD said, “All I know I he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is happy.”
“Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it’s family time and things are important to him,” AB de Villiers further added.
Speaking of the India versus England Test series, the third Test is scheduled to commence on February 15th at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, followed by the fourth and fifth Tet in Ranchi and Dharamsala.
