After the IPL, the Tata Group has now bagged the title sponsorship rights of the Women's Premier League. BCCI  secretary Jay Shah confirmed the news with a tweet.  "I am delighted to announce the #TataGroup as the title sponsor of the inaugural #WPL. With their support, we're confident that we can take women's cricket to the next level," Shah tweeted.

Notably, the inaugural Women's Premier League is set to start on March 4. Although the full details of the agreement have not been announced yet, the reports have claimed that Tata has secured the rights for five years. Notably, Tata had last year replaced Vivo as the title sponsor for the IPL.

The first-ever auction of the WPL took place on February 13 in Mumbai.  At Rs 3.40 crore, Indian opener Smriti Mandhana was the most expensive buy at the auction. The inaugural edition will be played in Mumbai across two venues -Brabourne Stadium and DY Patil Stadium.
