On Thursday, November 7, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the list of players retained and released by the five Women Premier League (WPL) franchises. The inaugural title winners of WPL, Mumbai Indians (MI) Women did not make several changes into their side from the WPL 2024 edition as they retained players like captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Natalie Sciver-Brunt and Yastika Bhatia.
Apart from them, the franchise has also retained West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews, along with South Africa’s Chole Tryon. However, England fast bowler Issy Wong was left out from the list despite being the first player to take a hat-trick in the women’s tournament. The franchise has also vouched faith in Indian players likes Pooja Vastrakar and Sajana Sajeevan, along with several uncapped players.
