The Rohit Sharma-led Team India registered a comfortable 4-1 series win against England at home. After clinching the series in Ranchi with a five-wicket win over England in the fourth Test and equalling Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 cycle, the hosts surpassed the Test champions after a win in the final Test in Dharamsala.
On the back of nine wickets by Ravichandran Ashwin and centuries from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, India registered a convincing win by an innings and 64 runs to claim the top spot in the points table and go clear off Australia. The Rohit Sharma-led side now stands at the top position with six wins and two losses from nine matches and having drawn one Test.
As per the point percentage, India sits at number one position with 68.51 percent, followed by New Zealand (60 percent) and Australia (59.09 percent). In addition to this, Bangladesh, Pakistan, West Indies, South Africa, England and Sri Lanka complete the top nine.
England drop to 8th place in WTC 2023-25 points table
After a humiliating Test series loss, England dropped down to the eighth place in the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle. They sit only above Sri Lanka with only three wins from 10 matches. They have lost six Test matches and drawn one so far.
