WWE is gearing up to host its first-ever major Premium Live Event (PLE) in India, with potential dates being decided for 2026 or 2027. WWE President Nick Khan recently confirmed that the company is actively working on bringing a large-scale event to India, recognizing the country as its second-largest market globally, trailing only cricket in popularity. India’s massive multi-generational wrestling fan base makes it a prime location for a major WWE spectacle. Following the success of the 2023 Superstar Spectacle in Hyderabad, which featured John Cena in action, WWE aims to deliver an even bigger event, possibly rivaling flagship shows like Royal Rumble or SummerSlam.

The company’s growing focus on India is also evident through its broadcasting partnership with Netflix. Starting April 1, 2025, Netflix will become the exclusive home for WWE content in India, including PLEs, weekly shows, and original specials. This deal is expected to increase WWE's reach and engagement with Indian audiences. WWE President Nick Khan recently spoke about the influence of this Netflix deal in bringing the WWE Premium Live Event to India.

India is on top of Netflix’s priority list: Nick Khan

After confirming the fact that a Premium Live Event will be hosted in India in 2026 or 2027, Nick Khan went on to talk about the Netflix deal. He said, “In one of our first meetings with Netflix after the deal was signed, without asking, Netflix handed us a list of their priority countries. At the top of that list was India.. India has always been important to us. So we’re pencilling it out now, and let’s wait and see.”

With India’s ever-growing wrestling fandom, WWE’s upcoming PLE could mark a historic moment for sports entertainment in the country. Fans eagerly await further announcements on the location, date, and match card for this highly anticipated event.
