Star Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin spoke at length about his India and Rajasthan Royals teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal in a recent video on his YouTube channel. Speaking to commentator Ashwath Bobo in the video, Ravichandran Ashwin said that Yashasvi Jaiswal is not a kind of player who needs to be taken care of, even when he is a young player. The off-spinner believes that Jaiswal is not an "innocent guy."

Notably, Ravichandran Ashwin was the star peformer in India’s massive 280-run win in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai. The 38-year-old scored a hundred in the first innings after coming to bat at 144/6. Apart from that, Ashwin also took a six-wicket haul in the second innings as India wrapped Bangladesh for 234 runs to take a 1-0 lead in a two-match series, to take home the player of the match award.

We will take care of him another day: Ravichandran Ashwin on Yashasvi Jaiswal

Apart from Ravichandran Ashwin’s masterclass with both bat and ball, Yashasvi Jaiswal also scored a crucial half-century in the first innings, when India lost big wickets Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill early on day one. The left-hander scored 56(118) runs in the first innings, adding 62 runs with Rishabh Pant for the fourth wicket (39 off 52). Apart from that, Jaiswal also showed his great fielding skills after he took a blinder on Jasprit Bumrah to dismiss Zakir Hasan in the second innings.

While talking about Yashasvi Jaiswal on his YouTube channel, Ravichandran Ashwin alluded to the amount of work put in by the left-handed batter behind the scenes. He was quoted as saying, " Yashasvi Jaiswal is not an innocent guy. He will keep on looking. I am telling you, he is not a lazy person. He is a small boy. He will do a lot of work. Leave him. We will take care of him another day."

"Even Jaiswal played well in the first innings. When we were in trouble, a 50 partnership came about. It was a crucial partnership. He is easily the most improved slip fielder. There is no doubt," Ashwin further remarked about the importance of the 22-year-old's innings in the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai last week.
