As Team India added another disappointing end to their T20 World Cup campaign, criticisms have started pouring in from all quarters. While many are backing the team despite their shocking exit from the ICC tournament, few retired cricketers are in no mood to spare the team for suffering such an embarrassing loss against England at the semi-final stage.

Former champions were completely outplayed by their opponents at the  Adelaide Oval as England openers remained unbeaten to set up a final clash against Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground. However, world-cup winning captain and prolific all-rounder of his time, Kapil Dev has made a shocking claim after India lost the knockout game on Thursday. While speaking in a show on ABP News, Kapil Dev admitted that Team India can be branded as ‘chokers’ for their consistent failure in ICC tournaments.

“Yes, we can call them chokers. That’s okay. They come close and then choke. But don’t be too hard. I agree, India played bad cricket, but we cannot be overly critical based on just one game,” he said.

Adding further, Kapil Dev lauded Englishmen for assessing the situation well and coming hard on Indian bowlers. “Jos Buttler and Alex Hales, played brilliant cricket while chasing the total. They used the powerplay so smartly and must be appreciated by everyone. Indian bowlers were left clueless,” added former Indian captain.

Speaking of the match, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya rose to the occasion as they guided the side to 168/6 in the 1st innings. But Indian bowlers were outdone by England openers as the latter assured 10-wicket win over Team India. Meanwhile, Pakistan is another team which has qualified for the final which will be played at Melbourne Cricket Ground on November 13 (Sunday).
