The fresh edition of Ranji Trophy 2022 kicked off in style on Thursday. India's premium domestic tournament has been an exciting affair so far for the batter. While, experienced batter like Ajinkya Rahane, Mayank Agarwal and Delhi's young prodigy Yash Dhull made a lot of noise on the first day with their respective hundreds, the second day saw yet another debutant Sakibul Gani crossing the three-figure mark.
The 22-year old talented batter successfully converted the three-figure mark into a triple ton during the Ranji Trophy Plate Group match against Mizoram in Kolkata on Friday.
Gani became the first-ever player to register a triple ton on a first-class debut and it took only 387 deliveries. His innings included 56 fours and 2 sixes. The Bihar boy showed tremendous batting skills on the second day of the Ranji Trophy and registered a historic feat on his first-ever appearance in first-class cricket. He shattered the previous record of Madhya Pradesh's Ajay Rothera, who amassed 267 on his FC debut against Hyderabad in the 2018/19 season. Let us know more about the young prodigy.
