In the 16-year history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), most of the top players in international cricket have had extensive careers in it. They have scored mountains of runs in the IPL, with a lot of significant milestone moments, including hundreds and fifties on a regular basis.
Before the start of the IPL 2024 season, in this article, SportsTiger looks at top five players with most fifties in the illustrious history of this franchise T20 tournament.
AB de Villiers (40 fifties)
AB de Villiers was an institution at Royal Challengers Bangalore for the majority of his IPL career, creating some of the most epic moments, not just with the bat, but in the field too. From 2008 to 2021, he played 184 IPL matches, scoring 5,162 runs, which included three hundreds and 40 fifties, with a few being scored during his time at Delhi Capitals, then known as Delhi Daredevils.

Rohit Sharma (42 fifties)
Rohit Sharma, who led Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles, has been one of the most prolific run scorers in the tournament history, mainly at the top of the order. In his 243 appearances in the IPL, he has scored more than 6,000 runs, including a hundred and 42 fifties, with some of those coming in the early part of his career at Deccan Chargers.

Shikhar Dhawan (50 fifties)
Shikhar Dhawan, the captain of Punjab Kings, has been known for his consistency in the IPL in the last decade, putting together substantial runs on the board for all of his teams, season after season. After playing 217 IPL matches, he has got 6,617 runs, including two hundreds and 50 fifties, including a few for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, and Mumbai Indians.

Virat Kohli (50 fifties)
Virat Kohli has played for the entirety of his IPL career with Royal Challengers Bangalore after signing with them before the inaugural edition of the tournament. In his 237 matches with the RCB, he has scored more than 7,000 runs, the highest among all the players in the history of the IPL, with seven hundreds and 50 fifties.

David Warner (61 fifties)
David Warner began his IPL career in 2009 with Delhi Capitals, then known as Delhi Daredevils, and since then, he has always managed to score runs at a fair rate against all comers. In his 176 appearances in the IPL, he has 6,397 runs in his tally, which includes four hundreds and 61 fifties, with quite a lot of them coming with Sunrisers Hyderabad, while leading them to the title in 2016.
