The former Los Angeles Lakers star Dwight Howard has denied allegations of assaulting a man he met online in 2021. The comments from the 37-year-old came in the wake of an exclusive from RadarOnline.com, in which they revealed that the number one NBA draft pick in 2004 from Orlando Magic, was sued by a man for assault and battery, who claimed that he pressured him to do a threesome with a man in drag.

The accuser had provided text messages, direct messages on Instagram, and an Uber receipt as evidence, to the media company, to back up his side of the story. Then, Dwight Howard made an appearance on the ‘Way Up with Angela Yee” on July 25, Tuesday, to put out his side of the story, after the information about the lawsuit came to light.

He was quoted as saying, “I didn’t react. Assault and Battery? Y’all been around me for how long… I have never in my life assaulted or hurt anyone. I’m not even that type of person. So, when I see allegations and accusations online about whatever people have said I’ve done. I don’t pay attention to them.”

“It doesn’t hurt but it makes me feel for my children. It’s not about all the crap about me, my kids, and their moms. My son doesn’t need to see that,” remarked the eight-time NBA All-Star.

What’s in the lawsuit against Dwight Howard?

As per the lawsuit, Dwight Howard and a man named Stephen Harper met on Instagram on May 29, 2021, when they allegedly exchanged texts and numbers. In just under two months’ time, on July 9, the 37-year-old allegedly invited the man to his home, asking him for a threesome on the way, to which he said no.

But, when they arrived at Howard’s home, Harper saw a man dressed in drag, named “Kitty,” make an appearance. Shortly afterward, Kitty started an adult film and gave oral sex to Howard. Then, the former NBA player made a move on Harper to which he said no, which made him angry.

The lawsuit further read, “Defendant stood up (towering over Mr. Harper), grabbed Mr. Harper by the thighs, forcibly removed Mr. Harper’s underwear, held Mr. Harper down, and performed nonconsensual oral sex on Mr. Harper. Mr. Harper was in fear of imminent bodily harm when he was pinned down and forced to remain in place while Defendant continued to sexually assault him.”
