In a rare incident from the Canada and England's men's hockey pool match in the Commonwealth Games, Canada's Balraj Panesar was involved in a brawl with England's Chris Griffiths on Thursday. The incident took place minutes before the halftime and both players were penalised for their misconduct.
England men's hockey team thrashed Canada 11-2 in the final pool match to qualify for the semifinals, where they will face Australia.
A few minutes before the halftime when England were leading 4-1, Balraj grabbed Griffiths by neck as tension continued between the two which led the match officials to show cards to both the players. While Griffiths was shown a yellow card, Balraj was sent off straightaway with a red card.
