The grand finale of T20 World Cup has kicked off in Dubai on Sunday and the first 15 minutes were not short of any action. As Aaron Finch put New Zealand to bat first, the onus was on the Kiwi openers to get their side off to an explosive start. The duo of Guptill and Mitchell showed some positive intent but Josh Hazlewood bowled a tight over with score reading 13/0 after 2 overs.
This is when Glenn Maxwell was introduced into the attack much to everyone's surprise. As expected, Mitchell went aggressive right from the beginning as he smashed a huge six over long on. After taking a single on the next ball, it was Martin Guptill on strike and this is when something happened which might also turn out to be the title deciding factor.
Will Wade's drop cost the Aussies?
On the 3rd delivery, Maxwell bowled a slightly fastest delivery which skidded after pitching. Guptill tried to play a cut shot but the ball nipped back in at the last moment which deceived the Kiwi opener as well as Australia's keeper. As the ball went past Guptill, there was a slight noise before Matthew Wade also failed to catch the ball.
The replays confirmed that there was an inside edge off the bat of Guptill as there was some disturbance on the snickometer. Although it wasn't an easy chance, these are the kind of moments which sometimes turn out to be crucial in these kind of big games.

Fans would now be hoping that Guptill could hurt the Aussies for the missed opportunity as a big knock from him could actually help the Kiwis lift their first ever T20 WC trophy.
