The T20 World Cup 2022 witnessed quality contests being
played between different teams. Some teams featured experience international players, while few relied on their youngsters. Out of them, some impressed with their performances, but a few were not up to the mark for their
respective teams.
With the next T20 World Cup slated to take place in 2024 in
USA and West Indies, combinations and plans of the teams are expected to change
as well. However, there are few individuals, who will retain their place due to
their track record, while injured players will also mark their presence in the
next edition. Here are those players who are likely to be seen in T20 World Cup
2024.
1. Trent Boult
The left-arm pacer has been one of the finest pacers to
feature New Zealand in international cricket. His consistency across all formats
have helped the Kiwi team to progress well and reach the final stages of key
tournaments. Earlier this year, he urged NZ cricket board to release him
from the contract, so that he can focus on franchise cricket.
However, Boult has agreed to be part of coveted ICC
tournaments and big bilateral series going ahead. In the T20 World Cup 2022,
the left-arm pacer scalped eight wickets in five games and has been in good
form. With fine performances and age on his side, Boult will feature in the
next World Cup in 2024.

2. Jofra Archer
The tearaway pacer has missed international cricket since
March 2021, with the last appearance against India . It was due to his elbow
injury and the back stress fracture, which required surgeries and adequate rehabilitation.
But he is nearly fit now and is likely to make an international comeback early
next year.
With proficiency in white as well as red-ball cricket, Archer
is an automatic pick after he passes fitness tests. In 12 T20I appearances, the
27-year-old has done well to accumulate 14 wickets. He is a quality option for the
Three Lions to suit their attacking style of cricket.

3. Jasprit Bumrah
India’s pace bowling spearhead in the last few years,
Jasprit Bumrah featured last for India against Australia in September 2022. Thereafter,
he sustained a back injury, which ruled him out of cricketing action for a
couple of months. In this process, Bumrah could not mark his presence in the T20
World Cup 2022.
Nevertheless, fully fit Bumrah will return to the field soon
and will play a key role for the Indian team in the powerplay as well as death
overs. In 60 games, the 28-year-old has scalped 70 wickets and will be a
first-choice pick by the selectors for bringing lost glory to the Indian team.

4. Adam Zampa
Australia’s finest spinner in the shortest format took 13
wickets in seven games to help the team in securing a title victory in the T20
WC 2021. His ability to put runs in check in the death overs or take wickets in
the middle overs is second to none. In 72 T20I games, Zampa has bagged 82 wickets
at an efficient economy of 6.93.
In the T20 World Cup 2022, the 30-year-old picked up five
wickets in three appearances and was the best bowler yet again for the Australian
team. Although Australia could not seal the knockout place, he has been a consistent wicket-taker in this format and is expected to be the lead spinner
in the next World Cup as well.

5. KL Rahul
One of the most gifted players in the country, KL Rahul has rather
been an average in big matches off late. In the last T20 World Cup, he emerged as
India’s highest run-scorer, but could not take the team through to the knockouts.
In the 2022 edition, Rahul hit two fifties and garnered 128 runs in six innings,
but failed against Pakistan and South Africa, which were pressure matches for
the team.
Although Rahul has been average with his contributions, he
is likely to continue in the T20I set-up. Furthermore, he served as the vice-captain
of the Indian team in T20 WC 2022 and will don the same role in the near future
as well due to his experience. To sum it up, the 30-year-old will be seen playing
for India in the T20 WC 2024.
