Nicholas Pooran is undoubtedly one of the most talented young wicket-keeper batters in the world of cricket. Despite his struggles in IPL in recent years, it looks like franchises still rate him very highly considering his immense potential. On Day 1 of IPL 2022 mega auction, a dramatic bidding war took place to secure the services of West Indies cricketer.

While Sunrisers Hyderabad were keen to get Pooran on board, they face a very interesting competition from KKR, who had very few funds remaining. With only Rs 20.50 crore left in purse and 7 players in squad, there was lot of work still left for the franchise with so many slots still left.

However, much to everyone’s surprise, KKR went on to bid an amount of Rs 10.50 crore only to be saved by SRH who secured the final bid for a price of Rs 10.75 crore. If the Orange Army had not interfered, the remainder of auction could have proven to be a nightmare for Kolkata Knight Riders going ahead.
