Now, the Moises Henriques-led team will be up against Hobart Hurricanes in their third game of the season. The Hurricanes have won one out of their two games. After a defeat in their opening fixture at the hands of Melbourne Stars, Hobart Hurricanes registered an emphatic victory against Perth Scorchers and will hope to replicate the same against Sydney Sixers.

Pitch Report

The pitch at Sydney Cricket Ground is known to aid batters. But spinners have their say in the middle overs. Meanwhile, fast bowlers need to toil hard in order to extract something from the surface.

Team Analysis

Sydney Sixers

Sydney Sixers have not got the desired start to their campaign. They have lost both games so far and poor batting has been the main problem for the Sixers. Apart from Jordan Silk, no batter has really looked threatening. Captain Moises Henriques has found it hard to contribute with both bat and ball. The likes of Kurtis Patterson, James Vince, and Josh Philippe have also not played as per their reputations. However, Sixers’ bowlers have done a decent job in terms of taking wickets. Now, with Hurricanes as their next opponent, Sydney Sixers will hope to register their first win of the season.

Hobart Hurricanes

After a disappointing start to the campaign, Hobart Hurricanes bounces back really well as they beat defending champions Perth Scorchers by eight runs. Captain Matthew Wade and Tim David played blistering knocks to power the Hurricanes to a big total. While Wade scored a 29-ball 51, David scored an unbeaten 46. After that, Partick Dooley spun a web around Perth Scorchers’ batters as the left-arm orthodox claimed four wickets. Shadab Khan, Nathan Ellis, and Riley Meredith were also among the wickets. Now, with a wounded Sixers in front of them, the Hurricanes will back themselves to win another one.

Match Prediction

If Sydney Sixers bat: Score- 145-150; Hobart Hurricanes Win

If Hobart Hurricanes bat: Score- 165-175; Hobart Hurricanes Win

Conclusion

Hobart Hurricanes look like a more settled unit as compared to their counterpart. The Matthew Wade-led side is also coming on the back of a win and hence will be pumped up. Meanwhile, Sydney Sixers fear a third defeat on the trot. Thus, Hobart Hurricanes are expected to win the match.
