Kolkata Knight Riders finished seventh in the points table in
the last edition. The major failure was their top order, which could not
provide a team with a good start. They had to fill 11 spots in this auction,
with an amount of only 7.05 Crores.

However, the team had a terrific auction, wherein they secured
the services of top players for a constrained amount. The likes of Shakib Al Hasan,
David Wiese, Mandeep Singh, Litton Das and N Jagadeesan were the top buys among
eight picks from KKR.

Top-order: N Jagadeesan, Venkatesh Iyer, Shreyas Iyer (c)

The opening pair for the KKR is likely to be N Jagadeesan and
Venkatesh Iyer. Recently, Jagadeesan has been terrific with his consistent scores
in the domestic circuit and will be looking to make good use of the
opportunity. Further, Venkatesh Iyer is best suited as an opener, which helped
the team in the 2021 edition. Captain Shreyas Iyer will mark his presence at number
three for the Knight Riders.

Middle-order: Nitish Rana, David Wiese, Andre Russell

The middle order is likely to be led by Nitish Rana, who can
play the role of an anchor and aggressor at any point in the game. The number
five and six positions could be taken care of by David Wiese and Andre Russell.
Both are highly experienced in T20s and are actively playing in franchise
leagues.

Bowlers: Sunil Narine, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Tim
Southee, Varun Chakravarthy

The spin department consists of proficient spinners, Sunil
Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, who are bowling alongside each other for the
last few years. With Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav and Tim Southee, the team has
a terrific pace bowling attack.
