With less than three weeks left for IPL mega auction, the excitement over the same is skyrocketing. While franchises have already announced their retained draft pick, 1,214 players have registered for the IPL 2022 auction. And high profile players are set to go under the hammer on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.

As per current status, Australia leads the charge with 49 players from the country to be listed in IPL, with South Africa (48) and the West Indies (41) not too far behind. The upcoming edition will be one of its since its inception; with two new franchises, the T20 tournament has gotten grander than ever. Chennai Super Kings, the defending champions and one of the most successful franchises in the game, has already geared up for the upcoming mega-auction. CSK skipper MS Dhoni has already reached Chennai to brainstorm over the mega auction.

During his stay, the team will discuss their auction strategies. The pictures of Dhoni in Chennai are already doing the rounds on social media, and CSK fans seem delighted to see their 'Thala' in action.

Dhoni, on numerous occasions, has expressed his admiration for the franchise. By taking a significant pay cut to promote Ravindra Jadeja as the first pick of the team for Rs. 16 crores, Dhoni once against proved that preparing the franchise for the tournament is his priority. CSK also retained Moeen Ali for Rs 8 Crore and Ruturaj Gaikwad for Rs 6 Crore. While CSK has already retained their preferred player, they will now be eying to build a core group for the upcoming season.
