Deepak Chahar has been in and out of the Indian team since he suffered a back injury earlier this year. The right-arm quick missed the Indian Premier League 2022. He made a comeback in a few bilateral series but was ruled out again with an injury. Chahar could not take part in the T20 World Cup 2022 as well.
Now, as India are playing Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series, Chahar travelled with the team. He also played in the first ODI which India lost. In the second ODI, Deepak Chahar was included in the playing XI as the fourth pacer but he could only bowl three overs. The pacer walked off the field after facing some issues with his hamstring.
Now, with Kuldeep Sen, who has also been included in the squad, injured as well, the Indian team management will have to call for a backup. Although BCCI does not have many options available at the moment, here are three possible names that can come as Deepak Chahar’s replacement in the squad.
1. Umesh Yadav
The veteran fast bowler, who recently returned to India’s white-ball setup is currently in Bangladesh, playing for India A. Umesh Yadav is having a decent run in the ongoing unofficial Test match series and can be a good option to have in the team. The right-arm pacer has 106 wickets at an average of 33.63in 75 ODIs.
