CSK's highest total score in the IPL came against the Rajasthan Royals in 2010, marking a watershed occasion in the tournament's 32nd match staged at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK made an excellent start after winning the toss, scoring 62 runs for the first wicket in 5.5 overs, thanks to the strong partnership between Murali Vijay (34) and Matthew Hayden (34). Vijay kept the momentum going by scoring 152 runs with Albie Morkel for the third wicket. This helped Chennai to reach the highest 246/5 in 20 overs. CSK won the match by 23 runs.

CSK vs Kings XI Punjab - 240/5 (2008)
On April 19, 2008, at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, CSK defeated Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), now Punjab Kings (PBKS) after putting up a massive score of 240/5. Michael Hussey-led the attack, scoring an undefeated 116 from 54 balls, including nine sixes and eight fours. The flat pitch helped CSK batsmen to post a formidable score. KXIP fought bravely but fell short, finishing at 207/4, handing CSK a 33-run victory.

Yet another memorable game by CSK saw them score 235/4 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). In this match, Devon Conway (105 off 52 balls) was the player of the match, hitting seven sixes and nine fours. The pitch offered a lot of bounce at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, which aided stroke play. KKR's chase finished at 186/8, giving CSK a comfortable 49-run win.

CSK scored 223/3 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 2013 IPL edition at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
