The fifth highest total in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was posted by Cheteshwar Pujara during the 2018-19 BGT. Coming after taking a 2-1 lead, India were now on the verge of their first-ever Test series win down under as they faced Australia for the fourth Test in Sydney from January 3 to 7, 2019. Batting first, India posted a mammoth total of 622/7 with Cheteshwar Pujara top scoring with 193(373) runs, while young Rishabh Pant also brought up his second Test ton scoring an unbeaten 159*(189) before the skipper Virat Kohli decided to call off the Indian innings. The match eventually ended in a draw as India registered a historic Test series win by 2-1.
