Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria made bold claims about teammate and ex-captain Shahid Afridi for not treating him right. Kaneria once again captured the attention of the cricketing world with his brash statements about the treatment he received from the team members during his tenure with the Men in Green. The former spinner criticised Afridi for the discrimination he faced during his playing days by posting a video.

The 42-year-old took to Twitter to post an old video of Afridi where he cheerfully mentioned breaking a TV after he saw his daughter performing puja. Kaneria added that his behaviour with family members was indicative of how he behaved with Kaneria on and off the pitch.

The Karachi-born wrote, “Shahid Afridi broke TV because his daughter was performing Pooja. Just imagine if he could do this to her innocent daughter, how would he have treated me.”

Kaneria, who is the highest wicket-taking spinner in Pakistan’s history, earlier accused several players, including Afridi, of forcing him to convert to Islam. In one of the interviews, the ex-cricketer said, "I was doing well in my career and was playing county cricket too. Inzamam-ul-Haq supported me a lot and was the only captain who did so. Alongside him, Shoaib Akhtar.”

He went on to say, “Shahid Afridi and many other Pakistan players troubled me a lot and didn't eat with me. They used to talk about conversion, but my religion is everything to me. Shahid Afridi was the main person telling me to convert and did a lot of times. Inzamam-ul-Haq never used to talk that way," Kaneria said in an interview recently.

Notably, Kaneria played a total of 61 Test matches and 18 ODI games for Pakistan, where he picked 261 and 15 wickets, respectively. In 2012, he was convicted of spot fixing and received a ban from playing cricket.
