Premier League club West Ham United, who last won a European title in 1999, won the UEFA Europa Conference League title this season, and following the victory, their star midfielder Declan Rice is set to leave the club in the summer. During a podcast session, sports presenter Laura Woods, who is an evident Arsenal fan, slammed a West Ham fan over his claims of ' Declan Rice can do better than Arsenal'.

Like every Premier League season, the 2022-23 season was full of surprises and disappointments as championship favorites Arsenal dropped valuable points at the end of the season, which helped Manchester City win their third consecutive league title and eventually the treble by winning UEFA Champions League and FA Cup this season. On the other hand, West Ham United avoided relegation and ended the season with the European Conference League title.

According to talkSPORT,  Hammers chairman David Sullivan recently admitted that Declan Rice has played his final game for the club.  Speaking on talkSPORT's The Sports Breakfast, a West Ham fan, named Phil, talked about the Hammers' star man to Woods and former Gunners midfielder Ray Parlour on Tuesday. Phil said, "I think I’m listening to talkARSENAL now, why don’t you have some West Ham people on? You can record this and play it back in five years’ time, there’s no chance that Arsenal will get anywhere close to winning the league, the Champions League; they probably won’t even win an FA Cup or a League Cup."

The remarks didn't go well with Woods, who replied, "Didn’t they get close to winning the league this year? Didn’t they get closer than anybody apart from the team who won the league? Didn’t they get a lot closer than you did? You were closer to relegation, weren’t you Phil?"

The West Ham fan responded by talking about how Arsenal blew their chances to win the Premier League title and claimed the Gunners "won’t even finish in the top four next year." Phil continued and said, "I understand that Declan Rice wants regular Champions League football but he’s not going to get that at Arsenal. Don’t be deluded."

According to the reports, the 24-year-old Rice will sign a contract with Arsenal next season despite heavy interest from European giants like Manchester United and Bayern Munich. After exchanging some words, Phil mocked Woods by saying, "Sorry, is it talkSPORT I’m speaking to, or is it talkARSENAL?" Then Woods delivered the final stroke and replied, "Phil, you did that joke already!"
