Indian cricketer Arshdeep Singh has begun his stint in the County Championships and clinched his maiden wicket on debut earlier in the week as he dismissed Ben Foakes with a peach delivery in a match against Surrey. Arshdeep scalped two wickets in the first inning, conceding 43 runs in his 14.2 overs.

While some thought it to be his best in the County Championships, one of his bests came in the same match in the second inning. Arshdeep sent the stumps flying as he dismissed Jamie Smith in the second inning on Tuesday. Smith, who reached his century off just 70 deliveries, was bowled on a brilliant yorker bowled by the Indian pacer.

Jamie Smith ended his stint with the bat with a knock of 114 off 77 deliveries. At the end of Stumps on Day 3, Surrey stands at 263/3, needing 238 runs to win. Dom Sibley (61 off 212) and Ben Foakes (22 off 34) currently are unbeaten in the middle with Wes Agar, Arshdeep Singh and Hamidullah Qadri among the wickets so far in the match.
