The Indian men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty advanced into the quarterfinals of the men’s doubles on Wednesday, October 4. The World No. 2 ranked pair, who have been in their best form this year, beat the Indonesia pair.

In a contest which lasted for 84 minutes, saw the World No. 11 ranked Indonesian pair of LR Carnando and D Marthin go down 22-24, 21-16, 21-12. The Indian duo threw some lethal smashes to make a difference in the first game, the World No. 11 pair came back from behind to take the second set. But the top-ranked pair continued their top game to take the final set and the game.
The Indian duo will next face Prajogo - Joo Jie pair of Singapore in the quarterfinals on Thursday, October 5.
Kidambi Srikanth loses to Kodai Naraoka of Japan
The former top ranked Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth was outclassed by the third ranked world player, Kodai Naraoka of Japan. The Indian went down 16-21, 17-21 in the pre-quarterfinals of the Asian Games 2023 to make an exit from the Games.
Earlier, the two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy sailed into the quarterfinals of the women’s and men’s singles events respectively after their straight sets win.
