Team India resumed their assignment for making it to the World Test Championship final as they faced Bangladesh in first Test in Chittogram. After winning the toss and opting to bat first, Team India didn't have an ideal start as stand-in skipper KL Rahul (22) and Shubman Gill (20) couldn't capitalise on the start and fell in quick succession. Virat Kohli too didn't stay for long as he got dismissed on 1. While Team India looked in a spot of bother, Rishabh Pant's counter attack helped the team shift the momentum.
However, Rishabh Pant's entertaining innings of 46 ended when he got bowled by Mehidy Hasan. Team India needed another partnership and they got it in the form of Shreyas Iyer and Cheteshwar Pujara who put together 149 runs and frustrated the Bangladesh bowlers.
While it looked India will remain unharmed at the end of day's play, the team lost 3 wickets in last 1 hour to make the day even for both sides.
With Shreyas Iyer still unbeaten, Team India will be hoping to add quick 50-75 runs to pose a challenging total in front of the hosts. But will the weather permit a 90-over game on Day 2?
Weather Forecast for Day 2 of Ban vs Ind 1st Test
Apparently, it will. According to weather forecast, no rain is predicted for Day 2 and we can expect a gruelling action between bat and ball. The temperature is likely to stay around 26 degrees Celsius.
