The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday, July 13 announced the revised schedule of India tour of Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue, who were originally set to begin the white-ball tour from July 26, will now commence their tour with the three-match T20I series from July 27, a day later. However, the three-match ODI series has also been pushed back by a day.
Moreover, the three-match T20I series will begin from July 27 and all matches will be held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele, the ODI series will be held at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. While the first T20I will now take place on July 27, followed by second and third T20Is set to be held on July 28 and July 30, the first ODI will be played on August 2.

Moreover, India’s tour of Sri Lanka will be former Indian cricketer turned Head Coach, Gautam Gambhir’s first assignment after Rahul Dravid’s tenure ended with India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph in the USA and West Indies. Further reports reveal that the tour will see the absence of senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah. In Rohit’s absence, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul are the frontrunners to take the helm.
