While the Indian side must have been gutted to miss out on a win in the first Test match at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur, the team more than made up for it with a dominant performance in the second Test match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After winning the toss and batting first, India first put on a competitive 325 runs on the board and even though Ajaz Patel in the literal sense of the word single-handedly bowled out the Indian team, Mayank Agarwal's hundred had done enough to help India to a respectable total.

Later, the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the Kiwi batters who seemed clueless on a Mumbai wicket getting dismissed for just 62. While the New Zealand pacers failed to take a single wicket in the entire match, it was the Men in Blue's Mohammed Siraj who picked each of the first three wickets to fall in the Kiwi first innings before the spinners joined the party and Ravichandran Ashwin ended up as the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4 wickets for 8 runs.

Although not everyone was pleased with the team's decision to not enforce a follow-on, the Indian batters came out again and scored 276/7 before declaring their innings after being satisfied with the lead they had accumulated. In the end, it did not prove to be a very difficult task at all for the Indian bowlers who bowled out the opposition for 167 with Ashwin yet again taking a four-fer and Jayant Yadav wrapping up the Kiwi tail early in the first session on Day 4.

"You could see the difference between last evening and this morning, was getting much more bite. Was just important to get the ball in the right areas. Wankhede and Mumbai is special, the last Test here, I got a hundred," Jayant Yadav said after the win.

Following the win, there have been all sorts of reactions pouring in on social media.
