The Border-Gavaskar Trophy is set to begin on February 9 in Nagpur. India is the current holder of the BGT. While the rivalry between India and Australia came to its peak during Virat Kohli-led era, the two teams have produced some fierce contests in the past.

The series was named after their former players Allan Border and Sunil Gavaskar,  respectively,  in 1996 for the Test series which was played between India and Australia.

Since then, there have been 15 editions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. While India has won nine, Australia has managed to win five. Only one series has ended in a draw.

Here, in this article, we will have a look at some stats and records made in BGT so far.
