R-Truth, who is one of the most funniest superstars in the history of the WWE, has been parodying 16-time world champion John Cena over the past few years in the promotion. In one of his latest interviews, Truth revealed that Cena gave him his blessing to mock the Leader of the Cenation with the latter’s signature style, and he hilariously calls him his childhood hero despite being a few years older than him.

Notably, in his interview on Insights with Chris Van Vliet podcast, R-Truth spoke about how he broke John Cena with the “Childhood Hero” gimmick. He was quoted as saying, as per Khel Now, “Oh, man, I broke him too with that one. That was good, man. And they’re still running with it. I love it, man. I’m not going to burst nobody’s bubble. I’m not a bubble buster. I love it. He is my childhood hero. I would be legs crossed watching him every Saturday morning.”

After being a part of the world of professional wrestling for more than 30 years, R-Truth has earned his due to do stuff he pleases, but despite that, he asked for John Cena’s blessing to parody him. In response, Cena told Truth that he doesn’t need to take permission from him for anything before stating that he should just “run with it,” and it has led to the WWE Universe getting to experience one of the most entertaining gimmicks of all-time in recent years.

R-Truth spoke to Chris Van Vliet about the conversation with John Cena in regards to receiving the blessing to parody him in the WWE, and remarked, “Yes, I asked for his blessing for everything, even wearing his shorts. He said, ‘Truth, you don’t have to ask me to wear shorts to the ring.’ I said, ‘Man I wanna be you. I wanna own everything you do, walk, talk, I wanna be you.’ He said, ‘Run with it’.”

The 52-year-old professional wrestler also detailed that one of the proudest impromptu moments in his career happened when he managed to break Brock Lesnar in the middle of the ring.
