Australian men's cricket team will have a golden opportunity to defend their T20 World Cup title as the eighth edition of the campaign is set to take place in their home condition. The defending champions have a star-studded line-up and will be among favorites to lift the prestigious title for second time in a row. While there will be other teams like England, New Zealand, India and Pakistan who will be putting their best bet to lift the title, Caribbean great Chris Gayle feels different.

'Universe Boss' has recently made a bold prediction about the top-two teams who have the perfect chance to qualify for the finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Despite going through a transition phase and not able to perform up to the mark, West Indies legend Chris Gayle has claimed that West Indies and Australia will be two finalists in the fresh edition of the ICC tournament.

"I think there could be a final match between West Indies and Australia," Gayle said while speaking to Dainik Jagran. Although, the 43-year-old admitted that West Indies will have a tough time as a team, but the side has great potential to perform well against the 'best in the business.'

"It will be very difficult for the West Indies team as the captain of the team is new and there is no Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell and Bravo in the team. Yes, it is definitely that the players who are included in the West Indies team are talented and can prove to be dangerous for any team. As everyone knows it is just a matter of adapting your strategy in the right way on match day. I hope the team plays well," added Gayle.

The Nicholas Pooran-led side will kick start its T20 World Cup 2022 campaign against Scotland on October 17 at Blundstone Arena.
