Red Bull chief Christian Horner lashed out at McLaren’s Zak Brown after the latter made controversial remarks on Red Bull. Brown had warned of massive consequences if Red Bull were found to have violated the F1 rules for adjusting car set up. Earlier on Thursday, it was revealed that Red Bull have agreed on a plan with FIA to make changes to their car after talking with the governing body. McLaren were one among the team to suspect that a device on Red Bull’s RB20 could allow them to change the height of the car via the bib at the front of the floor.
Brown questioned Red Bull and told Sky Sports, “Ingenuity is part of Formula 1, and then there are black-and-white rules. You cannot touch your race car, other than for things like driver comfort. They chose their words very carefully, saying 'when the car is fully assembled', but you're allowed to not have the car fully assembled in parc ferme when you're working on driver comfort. I'm very happy to see the FIA is on it. I think it needs to be a very thorough investigation because, if you touch your car from a performance standpoint after parc ferme or in parc ferme, that is a black and white, material, substantial breach, which comes with massive consequences."

Brown’s comments didn’t go well with Horner and instead of sitting back, he gave it to Brown. Horner told Sky Sports, “There’s a bit of moaning from one of our rivals, it’s their job to look into it. It’s been publicly available for the last three years (the information) just trying to satisfy perhaps some paranoia. I feel sometimes it’s to distract from, perhaps, what’s going on in your own house.”
Notably, Christian Horner and Zak Brown are in direct contention for the titles this season. While McLaren would aim to secure the Constructions’ Championship, Max Verstappen might snatch the title.
