Former UFC champion Conor McGregor’s manager shared updates about his anticipated comeback at UFC 300. The event is slated to be hosted in April 2024 and according to UFC President Dana White, it will be a historic event with a star-studded lineup. McGregor hasn’t been active since his left tibia and fibula during his last clash against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
The latest reports say that McGregor can make his comeback at UFC 300. The Irishman’s manager Audie Attar, recently opened up on his potential comeback while disclosing his alleged opponents. Attar said, "If it was up to him [Conor McGregor], he’d be fighting Saturday, so ultimately, we’re just trying to make sure we’re doing everything right and following all the standard operating procedures to get him back in the octagon as soon as possible. UFC 300 would be amazing, and obviously, we’re pushing as hard as we can to make that happen. Ultimately, it’s going to be an exciting 2024 for his return."
The manager commented on whether the UFC champion would fight Chandler. He said, "Look, I think that’s the likeliest opponent. They just did 'The Ultimate Fighter' together, and I think the fans want to see that fight, but there are other opponents as well. At the end of the day, the UFC is still keen on Michael Chandler and unless something changes there, I certainly think that’s who’s going to be."
He went on to say, “Conor wants that trilogy with Nate Diaz to happen, and it’s gonna happen. There’s the Dustin Poirier rematch as well, a bunch of different fights that exist and are a great possibility But ultimately you can’t say it's not a possibility. But a lot of things have to happen before it's even a conversation.”
Earlier, 'The Notorious' was slated to clash against Michael Chandler in 2023, his rival coach at the 'The Ultimate Fighter 31'.
