A few days after the reports emerged about Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci preparing to file a lawsuit against his former Italian club Juventus, Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo is now reportedly looking to sue the Turin-based club over unpaid wages during the COVID-19 era.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is seeking legal action against the Old Lady of Turin for around INR 177 crore (€20 million). Juventus agreed to pay the sum after the pandemic as they tried to save finances during that period. However, it is reported that Ronaldo has still not received the amount he was promised by the Italian giants.

After already speaking to the Turin Prosecutor’s Office about the situation, the 38-year-old Ronaldo took the decision to take action against the club, where he spent three years after leaving Real Madrid. The Portuguese signed a four-year contract with Juventus in 2018, however, left the club one year earlier than his contract to return to his boyhood club Manchester United in 2021.
Ronaldo scored 101 goals in just 134 appearances for Juventus and helped the Bianconeri to lift two Serie A titles and the Coppa Italia trophy. Talking about Juventus, the club is going through a rough patch financially as the UEFA has officially given Juventus a one-year ban from the Conference League over the violation of financial fair play rules. The European football organisation has also handed a hefty fine of USD 22 million to the Italian giants with half the amount suspended.
