After Argentine great Lionel Messi partnered up with his countryman Sergio Aguero's KRU Esports as a co-owner, Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea joked about bringing Portugal Star Cristiano Ronaldo into the esports world. Founded in 2020, Aguero's KRU has been competing across various popular eSports titles and established itself as a top-tier competitor in the field.

Talking about Lionel Messi's entry into esports, KRU released a video, which ends with the Inter Miami talisman saying: "Okay, let's play." Earlier in the clip, Aguero talks about Messi's arrival in the eSports space by describing this development as a new challenge for the best footballer in history.
Aguero said: “I am happy to share a club with Leo, of course now in a new stage and with other challenges. It is an honour that he is part of KRU. He is the best footballer in history, and also a great friend."

Responding to the aforementioned tweet, David de Gea, owner of Rebels Gaming, an Esports Org competing in Valorant and League of Legends, joked about calling Cristiano Ronaldo to join his team. De Gea tweeted: " oy llamando a @Cristiano @RebelsGaming" with a contract emoji. The tweet translates to 'Hey calling Cristiano.'
