After this loss, sports editor G. S. Vivek posted that the selectors and DDCA officials had decided to sack Yash Dhull. The Delhi opener struggled against Puducherry as managed to score two runs in the first and 23 in 40 balls in the second innings. Coming back to G. S. Vivek's post, the ABP Sports editor also spoke about how batter Himmat Singh is set to replace Dhull as the captain.
Vivek tweeted, "Just hearing that selectors and @delhi_cricket officials have sacked Yash Dhull as skipper after humiliating defeat to Puducherry. Himmat Singh likely as skipper even as Ayush Badoni remains stagnant as vice-captain. When jumbo team was for two games, why sack skipper. Why hide behind third-rate team selection and whimsical decisions? They are toying with careers of players."
