On Friday, June 28, Dejounte Murray reportedly got traded to the New Orleans Pelicans, which led to a story from him on his official Instagram account, in which he wrote “NOLA” and “#504”. It has been revealed that the 27-year-old will leave the Atlanta Hawks, but they will get Larry Nance Jr., Dyson Daniels, a 2025 first-round pick, and a 2027 first-round pick in return.

Notably, Dejounte Murray had his best NBA season for the Atlanta Hawks recently, averaging 22.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. He had signed a four-year contract extension worth $120 million with the Hawks before last season, but now, the guard is set to play for the Pelicans alongside Zion Williamson and CJ McCollum.

The presence of Dejounte Murray is expected to improve the 3-point attempts efficiency for the New Orleans Pelicans. Murray, Williamson, and McCollum will be generating late offenses in games for the Pelicans during the next NBA season.
