Indian Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra will start his 2024 athletic season at the upcoming Doha Diamond League on May 10. The reigning World Champion became the first Indian athlete to win the Diamond League when he clinched the title in 2022. Last year, he finished second behind Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch.
Along with the Tokyo medallist, his Indian compatriot Kishore Jena will also be in action in the 10-man men’s javelin throw event. Jena clinched the silver medalist last year in the Asian Games and will make his debut in the Diamond League event. The event is scheduled to take place at the Qatar Sports Club in Doha.
Apart from them, the event will also see former World Champions Anderson Peters of Grenada, Germany’s Julian Weber, Finland’s Oliver Helander, and Japan’s Roderick Genki Dean, in action.
