UFC legend Dwayne Johnson, better known as 'The Rock', gifted UFC fighter Themba Gorimbo a new house after being inspired by his story. Earlier, a video surfaced where Johnson could be seen surprising Themba after knowing his financial struggles. The Rock flew to Miami to meet the Zimbabwean UFC artist at his MMA gym. Johnson posted a video of him surprising Gorimbo, which happened after Gorimbo revealed that he was down to $7 in his bank account before his first UFC fight.
Not only this, but the Zimbabwean fighter also announced to auction off his fight kit after his win over Takashi Sato at UFC 73 Vegas, so he could help build a water well in his village rather than prioritising his own career. In the video, Johnson could be heard telling Gorimbo, “Your story moved me so much; when I got to know that you were sleeping on the couch in the gym. Now there’s no more couch sleeping, this is your house.”

The Rock posted the video on his Twitter, and captioned it, “Welcome home @thembagorimbo_mma. You and your family enjoy your new house brother. Lights are on. Bills are paid. Keep your “My Reason” list close, keep taking care of your people and I’m honored to play a very, very small role in your $7 bucks journey. $7 bucks. I’ve been there too. Got your back brother. Let’s get to work on that dream of becoming @ufc champion one day 💪🏾 Welcome home ~ DJ. ps - enjoy your Cheetos & alligators”
Gorimbo had tears in his eyes and said, “The money that I was going to use for the house, I’m going to build another borehole in my village now when I land in Africa.”
The UFC fighter took to Twitter to reply to The Rock and wrote, " God is the Greatest. I am very grateful of @therock for what he did for me and my family. This was the best day of my life. This was life changing day. My life has been changed and i will use this as motivation to change others lives too. I am very very grateful to everyone❤️"
