Basketball star LeBron James will attend his son Bronny James’ debut USC game against Long Beach State on December 11 (IST). The game will also mark Bronny’s return to the basketball court, four months after he suffered a cardiac arrest while practicing with the Trojans. The doctors later confirmed that a congenital heart defect was the reason behind the cardiac episode.
While it wasn't immediately certain after the cardiac arrest whether James would ever play high-level basketball again, he has now been given clearance by the doctors. The James family has released a statement and announced, “Bronny James is now cleared by his doctors for a full return to basketball.”
As per the latest developments, the Los Angeles icon LeBron James will attend his son’s USC debut game. After Lakers' 133-110 loss to OKC Thunder, James announced, “I already told my teammates that if they’re playing on the same day we’re playing then I’m going to catch them the next game. Family over everything. In a video posted by Spectrum SportsNet, he could be heard telling the reporter that he will attend Bronny's first USC game."
The statement by the James’ family read, "Bronny will have a final evaluation with USC staff this week, resume practice next week, and return to games soon after. The James family would like to express their gratitude to the incredible medical team, the entire USC community, and especially the countless friends, family, and fans for their love and support. Fight On!"
Notably, the USC Trojans are running on a 5-2 streak this season.
