Preview:

The Group C fixture between Poland and Saudi Arabia will hopefully create many more iconic moments in the World Cup. The Polish team had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Mexico as Robert Lewandowski missed a penalty. Whereas Saudi Arabia pulled off a historic upset against tournament favourites Argentina.

Team news:

Poland

No injuries were reported for the Polish team ahead of the game.

Saudi Arabia

Full-back Yasser Al-Shahrani suffered a horrific collision and hence has returned to the country for a jaw surgery.

Analysis:

The Poland team failed to capitalise on their major chances against Mexico like Robert Lewandowski’s missed penalty. But the Barca forward overall had a great performance along with Piotr Zielinski. Similarly, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny also looked great. Now the Biało-czerwoni would hope to get back to winning ways against their group leaders.

Whereas for Saudi Arabia, the Green Falcons are on cloud nine after their massive win over Argentina. They were defensively solid and took their chances on the offensive flank with both hands. But the biggest question surrounding Saudi Arabia will be regarding its ability to sustain this winning momentum.
