Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou's 15-month-old son tragically passed away on Monday. The 37-year-old boxer, who is reportedly with his family in Cameroon, took to social media to mourn the untimely demise of his son. Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor and Saudi Arabian boxing chief Turki Alalshikh expressed their condolences on X (formerly Twitter).

Ngannou last fought Anthony Joshua in his second boxing fight of his career and lost the bout via knockout in March. The Cameroonian-French boxer's first boxing appearance was against lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, where he lost the fight via split decision in Riyadh last October.

Ngannou paid tribute to his son on social media while questioning the purpose of life. He wrote, "What's the purpose of life if what we're fighting tooth and nail to get away from is what finally hit us the hardest!? Why is life so unfair and merciless? Why does life always take what we don't have? I'm f***ing tired"

Conor McGregor reacted to Ngannou's tweet and wrote, "I am so sorry to hear of your loss Francis, my prayers are with you and your family at this time ❤️🙏"

A few hours later, Ngannou posted another tribute across his social media handles, which read, "Too soon to leave but yet he's gone. My little boy, my mate, my partner Kobe was full of life and joy. Now, he's laying without life. I shouted his name over and over but he's not responding.

"I was my best self next to him and now I have no clude (clue) of who I am. Life is so unfair to hit us where it hurts the most.

"How do you deal with such a thing? How can you live with it? Please help me if you have an idea because I really don't know what to do and how to deal with this."

Conor McGregor paid his condolences and wrote, "Absolutely gutted reading this Francis! I can only imagine the pain you are in right now I am so sorry hearing this news. I pray God has the best and safest place in heaven for him, until you meet again 🙏❤️"

Apart from McGregor, Saudi's Turki Alalshikh wrote, "My heart goes out to @francis_ngannou for his loss. May his son's soul rest in peace."

The cause of the death of Ngannou's son is unknown while his close ones are currently respecting his privacy at such a tragic moment in his life.
