Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had a lot of praise for fellow Indian cricketer Virat Kohli for his stunning catch off his bowling in the first ODI between West Indies and India. Playing at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, the Men in Blue registered a dominant five-wicket win after bundling out the hosts at the score of 114. Then with the bat, in a topsy-turvy chase, Team India clinched the game in 22.5 overs.

But in the first innings, Kohli created one of the highlights of the match by holding onto a quick-reaction one-handed catch off Jadeja’s bowling to dismiss Romario Shepherd. Complimenting this effort, the Left-arm spinner joked about how he often takes similar catches while others are bowling and hence it was a great feeling to see someone put in a similar effort.



In a  BCCI.TV video with Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja said, “Mai har baar logon ki bowling pe catch pakadta hun, meri bowl pe bhi koi itna catch pakadega ye dekh kar acha laga (Generally, I take such catches on other’s bowling, but it felt good that somebody took it on my bowling).”

Further in the interview, Jadeja talked about how the difficult pitch to bat with the surface assisting the spinners. “Plan was to be economical. It got more difficult in the second innings. Ball was not coming onto the bat easily. It was spinning a lot. As a unit we hunted in pair,” said Jadeja.
