Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) got their first win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The side, who have been without their star senior pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, have been coming into the season after several ups and down. While they lost their first match against five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) under the leadership of stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav, they continued their dismal run as they lost their second match, going down by 36 runs against Gujarat Titans.
For the third match, the five-time champions returned to their home ground, the Wankhede Stadium and finally returned victorious, handing the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) an eight-wicket defeat. In the three matches, the former MI skipper Rohit Sharma continued to look out of touch as he has got only 21 runs at an average of seven and strike rate of 105.00.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma was dismissed on a four-ball duck in MI’s season opener against CSK. He then was dismissed after scoring eight runs off four deliveries in GT vs MI IPL 2025 clash, followed by getting out after adding 13 runs off 12 deliveries. His current performance is exactly opposite to his performance in the 2024 edition of the tournament, where he finished as MI’s highest run-getter.
