According to a reputed journalist, Vaibhav Bola, Hardik Pandya will continue to lead the side in the IPL 2025. Hardik Pandya to lead MI in IPL 2025: Reports
Reportedly, the five-time champions would give some time to the Indian all-rounder as he continues to be the captain of the side for another edition. The blue and the gold donned franchise on December 15, 2023 announced Hardik Pandya as their skipper, who succeeded its longest-serving, and one of the most successful captain Rohit Sharma.
“It is part of legacy building and staying true to the MI philosophy of being future-ready. Mumbai Indians have always been blessed with exceptional leadership right from Sachin to Harbhajan and Ricky to Rohit, who while contributing to the immediate success have always had an eye on strengthening the team for the future. It is in keeping with this philosophy that Hardik Pandya will assume captaincy of Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024 season,” MI’s Global head of Performance, Mahela Jayawardene said.
Notably, under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, MI finished last on the points table. The side won four of their 14 matches, finishing last with only eight points in IPL 2024.
