During the highly anticipated Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, Harry Kane limped off injured after getting caught by Amine Adli on his ankle at the Allianz Arena in Munich. In the post-match interview after Bayern Munich had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen, their manager Vincent Kompany hoped that Harry Kane’s injury isn’t serious, and he will be fit to take the field against Aston Villa in the midweek in the UEFA Champions League.

Notably, Bayer Leverkusen, the reigning champions of Germany, who had dethroned Bayern Munich off their perch last season, took the lead in the 31st minute through Rober Andrich, who smashed it into the bottom corner after a very good pass from Granit Xhaka. But, just eight minutes later, Bayern Munich equalised through a splendid 25-yard strike into the top corner from Aleksandar Pavlovic.

Harry Kane nearly set up match-winning assist for Serge Gnabry for Bayern Munich against Bayer Leverkusen

After the half-time break, in the 47th minute, Harry Kane had put Serge Gnabry in a great position to put Bayern Munich in the lead, but the latter struck the post before nailing the crossbar off the rebound. While both the teams tried to find the winner, in the 86th minute, the challenge from Amine Adli on Harry Kane caused the latter some discomfort in his ankle before he was substituted off.

Vincent Kompany, the Bayern Munich manager, was quoted as saying about the matter to Sky Sports, “I'm not a doctor, but I hope it's nothing serious. It's still early to say. Hopefully he'll be fit for Wednesday.” Meanwhile, the sporting director of the German club, Max Eberl remarked, “If Harry goes off the pitch, then it's something. Now I hope he's made of sturdy English wood.”

Moreover, apart from Bayern Munich, the England men’s football team and their interim manager Lee Carsley will also be hoping that the injury to Harry Kane isn’t a serious one for him to miss any of their two UEFA Nations League matches versus Greece and Finland.
