In a rather unfortunate news, British actor Tom Felton, best known for his portrayal of Draco Malfoy in the famous Harry Potter series, collapsed while playing a celebrity golf exhibition match ahead of the 43rd Ryder Cup on Thursday. The organisers of the event have said in an official statement that Felton experienced "a medical incident" at the Whistling Straits and was taken to a local hospital for his treatment.

No further information was provided through the official sources. It is being reported that Felton was on the 18th hole when he collapsed and was placed on a stretcher before being driven away in a golf cart. The actor, who had turned 34 on Wednesday, was representing Europe in the celebrity match which is usually held a day prior to Team USA and Europe officially commencing the Ryder Cup.

While Felton's current condition is unknown, he seemed conscious as he was driven from the course.

Tiger Woods to miss Ryder Cup

Meanwhile, veteran golfer Tiger Woods will be unavailable for the Ryder Cup as he has still not completely recovered from a car accident he survived in February this year. However, despite that he will be associated with the team but in a different capacity.

"He's been, you know, obviously in my ear a lot and I call him pretty regularly," Steve Stricker who is the captain in Woods' absence at the Ryder Cup stated in an official PGA Tour release.

"He's part of our Ryder Cup team. He's part of what we do," he added.

It is being learned that Woods' role would vary from texting the captains to having a few video calls with players. Stricker has also revealed that some of the US players even paid a visit to his South Florida home.

Not a good time for Woods to be here physically: Steve Stricker

"I think it's just not a good time for him to be here physically because of where he's at in his rehabilitation and (Whistling Straits is a) tough course to walk," Stricker said.

"Everybody is going to see it, from tee-to-green, it's difficult. So probably won't show up. But he's getting better and his focus and mine are on making a comeback to play again. We don't want to get in the way of that because we would all love to see him come back and play," he further said.

Notably, this will be the first time that Woods will not be with the team for a Cup competition since the 2015 Presidents Cup in South Korea.
